"I became a member of the Jeffie Jean Dance Studio family in 1943.  Since then, I've had my daughters and cousins become JJDS dancing members.  Never losing track, I now have 3 granddaughters starting their 10th, 9th, and 8th year of dance.  I can only thank Jeffie Jean, and now Jerisse, for all they have done for my family and the Baton Rouge community for the past 76 years."

"When Lily was young we brought her to a number of dance studios in the area, but we were not happy with any of them.  After speaking with a friend, we brought her to the Jeffie Jean Dance Studio.  We were told that the teachers were great with the kids and they wanted to nurture a love of dance for all of their students.  Lily loved Ms. Jerisse from the beginning.  She knows the kids.  She gets involved in their lives.  That is the most important thing to me and the kids.  They love her!  She knows how to mold them and build their self esteem.  She helps them to improve in themselves and builds them up.  Lily has grown as a person and that is because of Ms. Jerisse."

"My time as being a dancer at the Jeffie Jean Studio has been the best experience of my life.  I have danced at the studio for the past 16 years.  I have learned some of the most valuable life lessons in my time of being a dancer.  I learned what it's like to be part of a team.  I also learned how great life can be when you are truly dedicated and passionate about something.  The most important thing I've learned, however, is that being a family isn't limited to just bloodline.  The Jeffie Jean Dance Studio will always be my family and I have so many people to thank for that, especially Ms. Jerisse."

"I started taking the adult tap class about 3 1/2 years ago with no prior tap dance instruction or experience. It has been so much fun, a great work out, and I've met so many wonderful people! Jerisse is a fantastic, incredible teacher who shares her expertise, love, and passion for tap dance with us. She makes the class fun, but also challenges us to learn new dance steps and patterns. For me, tap class is not only a blast, but beneficial for mind, body, and soul. As Ms. Jerisse's motto says, 'Why walk your way through life when you can tap dance?' "

JoAnn Monjure,
Member of Adult Tap Class

"I can still vividly remember Catherine's 1st Dance Recital 15 years ago. It's amazing how time seems to pass so quickly. It's rewarding to watch our children grow but it is sometimes difficult to let go...We enjoyed watching Catherine at dance recitals, Christmas classes, Competitions and other performances over the years. There were so many successes along the way. However, one that stands out is the way that your groups compete with a special blend of talent, teamwork and class. Multiple times, I have witnessed parents from other studios watch in awe as your teams put on a show-stopping performance...Priceless...Thanks for your tireless efforts to teach and motivate. Thanks for so many awesome memories. And thanks for the endless care and "class" that you consistently display. You are a blessing to Catherine, our family and this community. Keep up the good work!"

"My three children have been dancing at the Jeffie Jean Studio for many years. I have watched them develop their talents in tap, ballet and jazz under the guidance of skilled instructors. They tell me dancing is fun, helps them express their feelings, and allows them to show who they are. This year I rediscovered my love for dance when I joined the adult tap class. Fellow classmates are some of the most amazing people and Jerisse is a phenomenal teacher. Thank you to everyone at the Jeffie Jean Studio for providing such a wonderful environment for learning dance and making new friends."
